Job description

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Speech Language Pathologist role based at Marnebek School in the Greater Melbourne Area. The Speech Language Pathologist will provide assessment, intervention, and ongoing support for learners with a range of communication and language needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting speech and language assessments, developing individualized therapy plans, and delivering evidence-based speech therapy in individual and group settings. The role involves collaborating closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external professionals to integrate communication goals into classroom learning and everyday school activities. The Speech Language Pathologist will also contribute to staff training, maintain accurate documentation, monitor progress, and participate in student support and planning meetings.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide comprehensive speech therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for speech and communication needs.
• Skills in working with communication disorders and language disorders, with a focus on supporting learners with diverse and complex needs.
• Experience in managing speech-related conditions such as dysphagia, including safe swallowing assessments and strategies where relevant to school settings.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (or equivalent professional body).
• Demonstrated experience in educational or paediatric settings, preferably with students with additional learning needs or disabilities.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary school teams and with families.
• Commitment to inclusive education, evidence-based practice, and ongoing professional learning.
• Current Working With Children Check and any other required local clearances for school-based work in the Greater Melbourne Area.
