Job summary

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join Specimen Reception. You will ensure specimens are received, processed and directed to the appropriate diagnostic laboratory safely and efficiently.

You will support the Division of Laboratory Services and contribute to a statewide pathology service with a focus on accuracy, safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified laboratory professional with a relevant Australian qualification.
• Strong accuracy and data entry skills.
• Able to follow procedures and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform Specimen Reception, processing and routine testing.
• Manage LIS data entry and registration; handle enquiries.
• Participate in training, quality improvement and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
