Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking Medical Laboratory Assistants for Microbiology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Two permanent positions are available—one full time and one part time—based in specimen reception and processing with weekend/evening shifts for the FT role and a 4.5-hour daily schedule for the PT role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a pathology setting is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
• Proficient computer skills and data accuracy.
• Demonstrated confidentiality and handling of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Receive and triage specimens and register patients.
• Process specimens and prepare for transport to laboratories.
• Assist with administrative tasks including procurement and roster entry.
• Maintain high data accuracy and confidentiality in all tasks.
• Support general laboratory duties as required.
