Job summary

Worley is seeking a Specialty Welder to lay out, align and weld fabricated components for structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels and pipe, following blueprints and metallurgy.

This role involves setting up equipment and welding using arc and gas-shielded methods, working from blueprints and specifications to deliver quality, safe construction in an industrial environment in Australia.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance experience.
• Proficient in flux core welding.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and repair pipe, boilers, towers, exchangers, furnaces, and drums.
• Set up equipment and weld pipe, plate, or structural steel using arc welding methods.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
• Ensure product quality with reasonable efficiency.
• Perform simple piping installations and repairs.
• Assist other mechanics and handle additional duties as needed.

Position Summary

Lays out, aligns and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, buildings and pipe, according to blueprints and metallurgy.

Primary Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and make repairs to pipe, boilers, towers, exchangers, furnaces, and drums
• Set up equipment and weld either pipe, plate, or structural steel using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment
• Work from blueprints, sketches, and specifications
• Product quality work with reasonable efficiency
• Perform simple piping installations and repairs
• Assist other mechanics
• Additional responsibilities not listed may be required

Qualifications

• Must be able to weld flux core
