Job summary

Clough Limited is seeking expressions of interest for Special Class Welders to commence immediately on the Woodman Point Sludge Treatment Facilities upgrade. You will read drawings, prepare items and operate welding equipment to perform SMAW/FCAW welds on risers, piping spools and structural sections.

Documentation, preparation and collaboration with pipefitters are essential, along with adherence to safety standards and project timelines.

Qualifications

• Construction White/Blue Card.
• Current Australian C Class Driver’s Licence.
• Welding Certificate.
• Ability to pass a 6G weld test to AS/NZS 4041.
• Working at Heights.
• High Risk Work Licence – EWP.

Responsibilities

• Read drawings, work orders and production schedules to understand job tasks.
• Demonstrate the safe use of all tools and equipment associated with welding.
• Operate manual or semi-automated welding equipment to conduct weld processes.
• Stick Welding (SMAW).
• Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
• Keep documentation and records accurate and up to date.
• Preparation of items to be welded.
• Welding of risers, process piping spools and structural sections using qualified welding procedures.
• Assist pipefitters with pipe fit up and installation

Want to work on an iconic local project?

Clough is in alliance with the Water Corporation and Jacobs, to deliver the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) for the upgrade of the Woodman Point Sludge Treatment Facilities.

The scope of the project includes upgrading the facility's sludge treatment processing system. This will enable the recovery of biosolids for agricultural use. The solid material, known as biosolids, will be used as a soil conditioner. Another by-product of the sludge treatment process is biogas, which can be used as a source of energy.
