Job summary

Zeal Personnel, a leading labour hire and recruitment company in Western Australia, is seeking skilled Production Welders for major structural steel fabrication projects based in the Perth metro area.

This is a 4-month workshop contract (SOR) involving heavy fabrication using Mig (GMAW) and FCAW, with potential extension. You will read drawings, perform 3G FCAW and MIG welds, and maintain safety and quality in a fast-paced workshop.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification required: Certificate III in Engineering (Boilermaking/Welding) or proven equivalent.
• Proficient in 3G Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) on structural steel.
• Commitment to quality, punctuality and safety.
• Right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality 3G / positional Flux Core (FCAW) and Mig welding on structural steel components.
• Interpret and work directly from structural fabrication drawings and shop prints.
• Prepare joint fit-ups, gouge/grind weld preparation, and ensure clean finishes.
• Maintain high production rates while meeting strict weld quality and safety standards.
• Operate safely within a fast-paced workshop environment.

About The Role

We are currently seeking skilled Production Welders for major structural steel fabrication projects based in the Perth metro area.

This is a 4-month workshop contract (SOR) based on project demand and performance. You will be working on heavy structural steel fabrication utilizing Mig (GMAW) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).

Please note: This role is strictly heavy structural steel fabrication (not pipe or stainless steel).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality 3G / positional Flux Core (FCAW) and Mig welding on structural steel components.
• Interpret and work directly from structural fabrication drawings and shop prints.
• Prepare joint fit-ups, gouge/grind weld preparation, and ensure clean finishes.
• Maintain high production rates while meeting strict weld quality and safety standards.
• Operate safely within a fast-paced workshop environment.
