Veterinary Specialists of Sydney (VSOS) is seeking a specialist cardiologist to join our multidisciplinary team, full time or part time, as we expand our cardiac service.

Formación

• Hold Diplomate ACVIM (Cardiology) or equivalent.
• Eligibility for veterinary and specialist registration in NSW.
• Sound clinical judgement and collaborative approach.
• Open to established specialists and newly qualified Diplomates.
• Base salary tailored to experience and contribution.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and manage congenital and acquired heart disease, arrhythmias and congestive heart failure.
• Perform and interpret cardiac investigations with clear treatment plans and follow-up for families and referring veterinarians.
• Collaborate with cardiology, anaesthesia, surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging and emergency and critical care colleagues.
• Contribute to interventional procedures and the open-heart mitral valve repair programme, including patient selection and ongoing care.
• Help develop clinical protocols, education and the service, with scope to pursue interests such as advanced echocardiography, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage congenital and acquired heart disease, arrhythmias and congestive heart failure

• Eligibility for veterinary and specialist registration in NSW

About us

Veterinary Specialists of Sydney (VSOS) is a new, independently owned specialist and 24-hour emergency hospital. We offer open-heart mitral valve repair with an established programme bringing our Australian team together with a visiting Japanese cardiac surgical team. Our interventional cardiology service includes PDA occlusion, balloon valvuloplasty and pacemaker implantation. Our team has also performed transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) and left atrial decompression (LAD). We have introduced an equity scheme so VSOS can remain independently owned, with invitations extended to senior clinicians and leadership staff.
