Wanted: a social worker who untangles the NDIS before morning tea
You know the difference between a plan and a good plan. You can calm a crisis, chase a provider and write a flawless case note before your coffee goes cold. You're the person colleagues come to when it gets complicated, and you secretly enjoy it.
If that sounds like you, come and meet us.
Who we are
Pearson Services provides allied health services to children, young people and adults with disability across Southern Adelaide. Our sessions don't just happen at a desk. They happen in our office, our therapy house, on our farm and out in the community. We work as a trans-disciplinary team, and we take person-centred practice seriously.
Our support coordination team works exceptionally well together. We're looking for someone who'll fit right in and bring something new to the mix.
The role
You'll lead a varied caseload of Level 2 Support Coordination and Level 3 Specialist Support Coordination participants, often people with complex needs, high-risk situations or several systems in play. Day to day, you'll:
Help participants understand and use their NDIS plans to build the life they choose
Manage complex cases, including coordinating across health, housing, justice, education and child protection systems
Respond to crises and manage risk with a calm head and a clear plan
Build capacity, so participants and families become more confident and independent over time
Write clear, timely case notes and reports that meet NDIS Commission and legislative requirements
Support and mentor the support coordination team, sharing your know-how and sounding-board skills
Work autonomously while staying closely connected to the team, using evidence-based practice and sound clinical governance
You'll bring
A degree in Social Work (eligible for AASW membership)
Solid experience in Support Coordination, ideally including Specialist Support Coordination
Confidence with complex cases, risk assessment and working across multiple service systems
A strong working knowledge of the NDIS, the NDIS Code of Conduct and Practice Standards, Disability Service Standards, the Privacy Act and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
Comfort with technology: at least intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and confidence learning new business systems
NDIS Worker Screening Check, current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
Lived experience of disability? We'd love to hear from you. It's highly valued here.
Why you'll love it here
Flexible, family-friendly hours, part-time or full-time
Real support, not lip service: a clinical manager, regular high-quality supervision and a team of support coordinators to bounce ideas off
Room to grow: an annual professional development allowance, plus in-house PD
Work variety: children, young people and adults, and the chance to lean into what you're passionate about
The gear: laptop and/or iPad, and travel paid per kilometre or use of a company vehicle
Wellbeing: Employee Assistance Program and regular team events (we're good at celebrating)
Pay that reflects you: a negotiable package based on your experience, qualifications and skills
