Job summary

South West Healthcare is seeking an experienced Specialist General Surgeon to join the Surgical Services team at Warrnambool Campus. The role involves inpatient and outpatient care, elective and emergency surgery, and active participation in clinical governance and service development.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, safe, patient-centred care and contribute to ongoing surgical service development in a regional health service.

Qualifications

• Hold FRACS or equivalent specialist qualification in General Surgery and be eligible for registration with AHPRA.
• Demonstrate broad experience and competence in General Surgery.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality, safe and patient-centred clinical care.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

About the role

South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Specialist General Surgeon to join our Surgical Services team at Warrnambool Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team and provide high-quality surgical services to the local community and the wider South West region. The successful applicant will participate in the delivery of general surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient care, elective and emergency surgery, clinical assessment and management, and participation in relevant clinical activities and service development. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the surgical, medical, nursing and allied health teams, contributing to safe, effective and patient-centred care.
