Job summary

Santé Recruitment is seeking an experienced Surgeon to join the Warrnambool Campus Surgical Services team. You will provide comprehensive general surgical care and work with a multidisciplinary group to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred services in a regional health setting.

The successful appointee will hold FRACS or an equivalent qualification, be AHPRA‑registered or eligible, and demonstrate broad General Surgery experience with a commitment to clinical governance and ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Fellowship with FRACS or equivalent in General Surgery.
• Be registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated broad General Surgery experience and competence.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality General Surgical services to inpatients and outpatients.
• Participate in elective and emergency surgical procedures.
• Undertake clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centred care.
• Provide clinical leadership and support to junior medical staff.
• Participate in clinical meetings, education and teaching.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and service development.
• Participate in on‑call and after‑hours arrangements.
• Support ongoing development of surgical services across the region.

Sante Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Specialist General Surgeon – Warrnambool, VIC to join the Surgical Services team at Warrnambool Campus.

This is an excellent opportunity for a General Surgeon to join a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team and provide high-quality surgical care to the local community and the wider South West region of Victoria.

The Role: The successful applicant will participate in the delivery of a comprehensive range of general surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient care, elective and emergency surgery, clinical assessment and management, and ongoing clinical and service development activities.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the surgical, medical, nursing and allied health teams to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care.

The role provides the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of surgical services within a major regional health service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality General Surgical services to inpatients and outpatients.
• Participate in elective and emergency surgical procedures.

What You Bring The Successful Candidate Will

• Hold FRACS or an equivalent specialist qualification in General Surgery.
• Be registered, or eligible for registration, with AHPRA.
• Demonstrate broad experience and competence across General Surgery.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to high‑quality, safe and patient‑centred clinical care.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrate a commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement and continuing professional development.
• Have the ability to contribute positively to the ongoing development of surgical services within a regional health service.
