Job Description

Drive smarter cloud solutions and cost efficiency at scale. Viva Energy Australia is seeking a Senior FinOps & Cloud Engineer to lead the design and delivery of cost-effective Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Terraform, and cloud-native services. This is a hands-on technical role with strategic influence optimising cloud spend, enabling automation, and shaping infrastructure that supports critical national operations.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, secure Azure infrastructure using IaC and Terraform
Monitor and optimize cloud usage and costs with FinOps best practices
Leverage Azure-native services (AKS, Functions, Logic Apps, etc.) to enhance performance
Automate deployments and integrate with CI/CD pipelines
Ensure compliance, security, and governance across cloud environments
Build dashboards and reports to track cloud spend and forecast budgets
Collaborate across teams to align infrastructure with business and financial goals

Qualifications

10+ years in cloud engineering with deep Azure expertise
Strong background in infrastructure automation, DevOps, and CI/CD
Proven experience with FinOps tools and cloud cost optimization strategies
Skilled in Terraform, Git, scripting (Python, PowerShell), and cloud-native services
Experience in hybrid cloud environments and multi-site enterprise infrastructure
