VIDA Health is seeking a senior leader to guide the planning and design of Victoria's future health infrastructure. You will provide expert clinical planning advice, design assurance and technical leadership across major capital projects, working with health services, clinicians and project teams to shape safe, functional healthcare environments.

VIDA Health (Victorian Health Building Authority) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VIDA Health also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.

The Opportunity

Lead the planning and design of Victoria's future health infrastructure, providing expert clinical planning advice, design assurance and technical leadership across major capital projects. Working closely with health services, clinicians, consultants, and project teams, you will influence the design of safe, functional, and contemporary healthcare environments while driving design excellence, strengthening sector capability, and mentoring a team of design professionals.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Leading strategic design initiatives that support high-quality health, mental health, and aged care infrastructure outcomes.
• Representing VIDA Health on relevant forums, committees, and working groups, contributing thought leadership and promoting innovative approaches to design.
• Developing design guidance and standards that support high-quality healthcare infrastructure delivery.
• Identifying improvement opportunities in design guidance and sector practice while leading practical solutions to improve organisational outcomes.

We are looking for:

• Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Health Planning, Building Design, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline, along with experience in Capital planning, project delivery or operational leadership within public health infrastructure (highly regarded).
• Expertise in health facility planning, operational requirements, and healthcare design, with the ability to provide strategic guidance and assurance.
• Expertise in design assurance, risk identification, and strategic advice across complex healthcare infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to build credibility, manage competing priorities, and drive positive outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
