Job summary

Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Specialist Dementia Care Unit, delivering person-centred, evidence-based nursing care to older people with severe dementia and complex behaviours. The role includes clinical leadership and guidance to the care team.

You will work closely with residents, families and a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, focusing on non-pharmacological interventions and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing or similar discipline is required.
• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Current CPR certification within the last 12 months.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check lodged or received prior to commencement.
• National Police Check dated within three months of commencement.
• Current Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing and dementia care.
• Assess residents' needs and develop, implement and review individualised care plans.
• Identify triggers for responsive behaviours and implement non-pharmacological strategies.
• Contribute to behaviour support plans and clinical risk management strategies.
• Monitor and document changes in residents' cognition, behaviour, health and wellbeing.
• Participate in and, where appropriate, lead case conferences and care reviews.
• Provide clinical guidance, delegation and supervision to Personal Care Workers and other team members.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers, GPs, allied health professionals and the broader multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Contribute to quality improvement, accreditation, safety and clinical governance activities.
