Job summary

Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS) is hiring a Personal Care Worker for a Specialist Dementia Care Unit. You will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living with severe dementia, under supervision of clinical staff, ensuring dignity and quality of life.

The role focuses on ADL support, mobility, meals, and engagement activities, with a structured education program and access to enterprise agreements.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or above in Individual Support, Aged Care or Disability Care.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check dated before commencement.
• CPR Certificate – Dated within 12 months.
• National Police Check dated within three months of commencement.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, respectful and person-centred care.
• Support residents with personal care, mobility, meals, exercise and activities of daily living.
• Encourage independence wherever it is safe and appropriate.
• Support people living with severe or advanced dementia and responsive behaviours using calm, respectful approaches.
• Observe and report potential triggers, patterns and changes in responsive behaviours.
• Implement documented non-pharmacological strategies within individual care and behaviour support plans.
• Accurately document and report changes in residents' cognition, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Work within your scope of practice under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Support residents to participate in activities that promote engagement and wellbeing.
