Job summary

ARRCS in Alice Springs, Northern Territory is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Specialist Dementia Care Unit, delivering person-centred, evidence-based nursing care to older people with severe dementia and complex behavioural symptoms.

You will provide clinical leadership, assess needs, and collaborate with families and a multidisciplinary team to support quality of life and wellbeing while guiding less experienced clinicians in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing or similar discipline.
• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Current CPR certification dated within the previous 12 months.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check lodged or received prior to commencement.
• National Police Check dated within three months of commencement.
• Current Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing and dementia care.
• Assess residents' needs and develop, implement and review individualised care plans.
• Identify triggers for responsive behaviours and implement non-pharmacological strategies.
• Contribute to behaviour support plans and clinical risk management strategies.
• Monitor and document changes in residents' cognition, behaviour, health and wellbeing.
• Participate in and lead case conferences and care reviews.
• Provide clinical guidance, delegation and supervision to Personal Care Workers and other team members.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers, GPs and the broader multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to quality improvement, accreditation, safety and clinical governance activities.

Education

Bachelor of Nursing

Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

Current CPR certification within 12 months

NDIS Worker Screening Check

National Police Check within 3 months

Current Driver's Licence
