Eastern Health in Melbourne is inviting applications for Specialist Anaesthetist roles across several sites, commencing February 2027 to cover sabbatical and parental leave. Anaesthesia services are delivered across Box Hill Hospital, Blackburn Public Surgical Centre and Yarra Ranges Health (Lilydale).

The department supports a broad range of surgical services and requires cross-site work. Applicants should hold AHPRA registration and ANZCA fellowship (or equivalent) and demonstrate leadership,

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner.
• Fellowship of ANZCA or equivalent qualifications to enable recognition as a specialist anaesthetist.
• Capacity to work across different hospital sites within Eastern Health.
• High levels of professionalism and ability to supervise, support and teach junior medical staff.

Responsabilités

• Provide anaesthetic care across multiple Eastern Health sites and a broad range of surgical services.
• Supervise and teach junior medical staff and contribute to service delivery optimisation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient access and efficient theatre utilisation.

About the role

Eastern Health is inviting applications for the position of Specialist Anaesthetist, with multiple ongoing and fixed-term opportunities available commencing in February 2027 to cover sabbatical and parental leave cover.

Anaesthesia services are provided across multiple Eastern Health sites, including:

• Box Hill Hospital
• Blackburn Public Surgical Centre
• Yarra Ranges Health (Lilydale)

The department supports a broad and diverse range of surgical services, including Vascular, ENT, Thoracic, Upper GI and Hepatobiliary, Colorectal, Obstetrics, Gynaecology (including Gynaecological Oncology), Breast and Endocrine, Paediatric Surgery, Urology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery.

Appointments are made to Eastern Health rather than a specific hospital. The successful applicant will be required to work across multiple Eastern Health sites.

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner.
• Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) or hold equivalent qualifications to enable recognition as a specialist anaesthetist.
