ETS Infrastructure Management is seeking an experienced Specialised Tree Handler Operator based on the Sunshine Coast or Brisbane. The role focuses on operating Magni telehandlers and heavy plant to support vegetation management, tree clearing and land maintenance across diverse project environments.

You’ll work with skilled crews, report to supervisors, and uphold safety and client requirements while contributing to high‑quality project delivery.

ETS Infrastructure Management - Mooloolaba QLD

ETS is seeking an experienced and motivated Specialised Tree Handler Operator to join our growing Vegetation Management team based out of Sunshine Coast or Brisbane. This is a hands‑on role suited to an operator with experience operating Magni telehandlers, excavators or similar heavy plant, particularly within the tree care, vegetation management, civil, infrastructure or utility industries.

As a Magni Operator, you will play an important role in supporting vegetation management and tree clearing operations, safely and efficiently operating specialised plant and equipment across a range of project environments.

Working alongside experienced vegetation management crews and reporting to the Supervisor, Project Manager and Operations/Area Manager, you will contribute to the safe, productive and high‑quality delivery of works while ensuring compliance with ETS and client requirements. Living Away from Home at times will be essential

Key Responsibilities

Operate Magni telehandlers, excavators and other specialised plant and equipment.

Support tree clearing, vegetation management, tree removal and associated land management works.

Safely handle and move trees, timber, vegetation and materials.

Complete pre-starts, plant inspections, risk assessments and toolbox meetings.

Identify and report hazards, equipment faults, incidents and environmental concerns, maintaining accurate documentation.

Work collaboratively with site crews while maintaining equipment and ensuring compliance with ETS, client and legislative requirements.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience operating Magni telehandlers and/or excavators.

Relevant plant operator licences, tickets and competencies.

Experience operating heavy plant in field‑based environments.

Strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental outcomes.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Reliable, self‑motivated and professional attitude.

Good communication and problem solving skills.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience handling trees, timber and vegetation using specialised machinery. Experience operating Sennebogen machines, timber handlers, telehandlers or similar equipment will be highly regarded.

Highly Desirable

Experience within the vegetation management, arboriculture or tree industry.

Experience operating Sennebogen, timber handlers or similar specialised equipment.

Experience handling trees, timber, logs and vegetation.

Experience in civil construction, infrastructure, utilities, forestry, rail or road maintenance.

HC/HR Truck Licence.

Chainsaw operation experience and relevant competencies.

Certificate II or III in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Forestry or a related field.
