Job summary

HammondCare is seeking casual Home Care Workers to support older Australians in their own homes. The role involves travel to clients’ homes using your own car, providing personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping and transportation to appointments.

Training is provided; no prior experience is required for many positions. We value compassionate, patient caregivers who can build relationships and contribute to quality of life.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged or community care preferred, but not required.
• Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to insured, reliable car.
• Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent preferred; training offered to qualified applicants.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including showering and dressing.
• Assist with meals, light housekeeping, and transportation to appointments.
• Support with medications and accompany clients during activities.

HammondCare Home Care is currently looking for Casual Carers to join our team in the Lower Hunter region. Potential availability at short notice and start time approximately 7am.

About the role

you’ll provide essential, practical care for older people, supporting them to live independently in their own homes and genuinely improving their quality of life. This includes not only day-to-day care but also building meaningful relationships and offering companionship. The role requires travel to clients’ homes using your own car (you’ll be paid $0.99 per km plus paid travel time). The care work you’ll be doing may include:

• Providing personal care - helping with showering and dressing
• Helping around the home - meal preparation and light house cleaning
• Providing transportation to appointments and assisting with shopping
• Assisting with medication

• $32.91 to $36.50 per hour plus 99c/km + paid travel time + mobile phone provided

About you

you’re a people‑person who is patient and solutions‑focused you have previous experience in aged or community care, or are looking to start your career in aged care you have a valid Driver’s Licence and access to an insured, reliable car (min. Third Party Property Insurance) ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support. If you’re not currently qualified and would like to be, then we can help you’ll be flexible around meeting the changing needs of home care clients
