Qualifications

• Passion to support students with special needs
• Well-developed interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
• Initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Ability to facilitate a safe work environment
• Qualified or working toward Education Support or a Special Needs Certificate

Responsibilities

• Support student learning under the teacher's direction with individuals and small groups
• Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of educational programs
• Maintain student confidentiality per school policy and law
• Engage in ongoing professional development as per school policy
• Foster cooperative relationships with team members and stakeholders
• Provide interventions to meet safety, social, emotional, health and personal care needs of students
• Support school routines and classroom activities
