Job summary

Croydon Special Developmental School is seeking an Education Support Class member to assist teachers and coordinate support staff in line with school policies. The role involves routine student support, communication with families, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver educational services.

Under supervision, you will provide health and wellbeing support, assist in program delivery, and help manage classroom tasks while adhering to Department guidelines and standards.

Qualifications

• SC1 demonstrates capacity to perform duties with established guidelines and frameworks, coordinating and supporting others in work functions.
• SC2 demonstrates capacity to work and collaborate in a team environment.
• SC3 demonstrates capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine support for teachers including assisting with planning of student routines.
• Supports communication between teachers and parents.
• Communicates with teachers on routine matters related to students and responsibilities.
• Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students.
• Addresses immediate behavioural presentations in line with school policy.
• Supports coordination of a team of aides and other student support staff.
