Job summary

Gerard Malouf & Partners is seeking an experienced Special Counsel Public Liability Solicitor in NSW to join our growing team. Reporting to senior leadership, you will manage a busy personal injury caseload, supervise junior staff and drive favourable outcomes for clients while upholding the firm's high standards.

You should be admitted as a NSW solicitor with current practising certificate, 3–5+ years in personal injury litigation, and strong advocacy, negotiation and client management skills.

Qualifications

• Admiss ion as NSW Solicitor with current practising certificate.
• 3–5+ years’ post‑admission experience in personal injury litigation.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and client management skills.
• Proven track record of achieving successful client outcomes.
• High attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.
• Ability to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake to resolution.
• Prepare and review pleadings, Statements of Claim, and other court documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice on case merits.
• Attend conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings with clients and barristers.
• Negotiate and settle claims in line with client instructions.
• Maintain regular and clear communication with clients, ensuring superior client service.
• Supervise and mentor support staff to ensure compliance with firm protocols.
• Meet individual KPIs including file management, client satisfaction, and fee budgets.
• Maintain compliance with CPD requirements.

Key Responsibilities
