Job summary

GMP Law, a leading Australian plaintiff law firm, seeks an experienced Solicitor to join our Public Liabilities teams in NSW. You will manage personal injury matters, supervise staff, and drive successful outcomes while upholding high ethical and professional standards.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will handle pleadings, court documents, and strategic case assessment, while maintaining excellent client communication and meeting KPIs. A collaborative, high-performance environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Admission as a Solicitor in NSW with a current practising certificate.
• 3–5+ years’ post-admission experience in personal injury litigation.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, and client management skills.
• Proven track record of achieving successful client outcomes.
• High attention to detail and strong organisation.
• Ability to mentor and supervise junior staff.
• Collaborative approach aligned with firm values.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake to resolution.
• Prepare and review pleadings, statements of claim, and other court documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice on case merits.
• Attend conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings with clients and barristers.
• Negotiate and settle claims in line with client instructions.
• Maintain regular and clear communication with clients, ensuring superior client service.
• Supervise and mentor support staff to ensure compliance with firm protocols.
• Meet individual KPIs including file management, client satisfaction, and fee budgets.
• Maintain compliance with CPD requirements.
