Job summary

Clough, in alliance with the Water Corporation and Jacobs, is delivering EPC upgrades to the Woodman Point Sludge Treatment Facilities. The project focuses on upgrading the sludge treatment system to recover biosolids for agricultural use and produce biogas for energy.

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for a Boilermaker/Welder to commence immediately. You will work on-site, read drawings, prepare stock, weld, and ensure compliance with safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Read drawings, work orders and production schedules.
• Select, clean and prepare metal stock for fabrication.
• Fit and assemble metal components by welding, or bolting.
• Demonstrate the safe use of all tools and equipment associated with fabrication and welding.
• Operate manual or semi-automated welding equipment for SMAW, GMAW and FCAW.
• Keep documentation and records accurate and up to date.
• Troubleshoot within scope of work and follow drawings and procedures.

Job description

Clough is in alliance with the Water Corporation and Jacobs, to deliver the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) for the upgrade of the Woodman Point Sludge Treatment Facilities.

The scope of the project includes upgrading the facility's sludge treatment processing system. This will enable the recovery of biosolids for agricultural use. The solid material, known as biosolids, will be used as a soil conditioner. Another by-product of the sludge treatment process is biogas, which can be used as a source of energy.

Who you are

Your role will include:

• Read drawings, work orders and production schedules to understand job tasks.
• Select, clean and prepare metal stock for fabrication.
• Fit and assemble metal components by welding, or bolting.
• Demonstrate the safe use of all tools and equipment associated with fabrication and welding.
• Operate manual or semi-automated welding equipment to conduct the following weld processes.
• Stick Welding (Shielded Metal Arc Welding or SMAW)
• MIG Welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding or GMAW)
• Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
• Keep documentation and records accurate and up to date.
• Undertake problem solving / troubleshooting within scope of work as required
• Execute work in accordance with applicable standards and procedures and in adherence to work instructions and drawings as defined in work packs or supervisor instructions.
• Execute work in line with Management System requirements.
• Any other duties deemed within the employee’s ability or experience

• Construction White/Blue Card
• Current Australian “C” Class Driver’s Licence
• Trade Cert 3 in heavy fabrication / pipefitting
• Ability to pass a 3G/4G plate test to AS 2980
• Working at Heights
• High Risk Work Licence – EWP
