Job summary

Clough is seeking expressions of interest for a Boilermaker/Welder to commence immediately on the Woodman Point Sludge Treatment Facilities upgrade, in partnership with Water Corporation and Jacobs. Read drawings, prepare stock, and fabricate components to support the EPC scope.

You will operate SMAW, GMAW, FCAW weld processes, maintain records, and work safely to AS 2980 standards. Suitable candidates hold Trade Certificate III in heavy fabrication/pipefitting, a C-class licence, and HRW/EWP

Qualifications

• Construction White/Blue Card.
• Current Australian “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
• Trade Certificate III in heavy fabrication / pipefitting.
• Ability to pass a 3G/4G plate test to AS 2980.
• Working at Heights.
• High Risk Work Licence – EWP.

Responsibilities

• Read drawings, work orders and production schedules to understand job tasks.
• Fit and assemble metal components by welding, or bolting.
• Operate manual or semi-automated welding equipment (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW).
• Demonstrate safe use of tools and equipment and keep records up to date.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within scope of work as required.
• Work in accordance with standards, procedures and supervisor instructions.

Want to work on an iconic local project?

Clough is in alliance with the Water Corporation and Jacobs, to deliver the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) for the upgrade of the Woodman Point Sludge Treatment Facilities.

The scope of the project includes upgrading the facility's sludge treatment processing system. This will enable the recovery of biosolids for agricultural use. The solid material, known as biosolids, will be used as a soil conditioner. Another by-product of the sludge treatment process is biogas, which can be used as a source of energy.

Who you are

Your role will include:

• Read drawings, work orders and production schedules to understand job tasks.
• Select, clean and prepare metal stock for fabrication.
• Fit and assemble metal components by welding, or bolting.
• Demonstrate the safe use of all tools and equipment associated with fabrication and welding.
• Operate manual or semi-automated welding equipment to conduct the following weld processes.
• Stick Welding (Shielded Metal Arc Welding or SMAW)
• MIG Welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding or GMAW)
• Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
• Keep documentation and records accurate and up to date.
• Undertake problem solving / troubleshooting within scope of work as required
• Execute work in accordance with applicable standards and procedures and in adherence to work instructions and drawings as defined in work packs or supervisor instructions.
• Execute work in line with Management System requirements.
• Any other duties deemed within the employee’s ability or experience
