Job summary

Tasmania Government is seeking a Program Leader for the Spatial Data programs, responsible for governance, maintenance and enhancement of core spatial datasets. You will lead a specialist team and manage complex projects delivering accurate data services to government and community.

The role involves strategic leadership, high‑level stakeholder engagement, and driving continuous improvement of data management processes while supporting flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing foundational geospatial datasets and governance.
• Strong technical expertise in GIS technologies, particularly ESRI ArcGIS products and FME.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Lead Tasmania's spatial data programs, ensuring high-quality outcomes for government, industry and community needs.
• Oversee governance, maintenance and enhancement of cadastral, address, transport, property and administrative datasets.
• Manage people, projects and resources to deliver reliable spatial data services.
• Provide strategic leadership and expert advice on foundational datasets.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement of data management processes, systems and workflows.
• Build and maintain relationships across government, industry and the public to support collaboration.
