Job summary

Toll Group is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance on AW139 and Bell 429 helicopters in Adelaide. You will plan, prepare, and execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with a focus on safety and compliance.

The role requires mechanical/avionics trade qualifications, CASA Part 66 B1.3/B2 with type ratings, and Aeroskills certificates. Extensive helicopter experience and a proactive, team-oriented mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Completed mechanical/avionics trade qualifications.
• CASA Part 66 B1.3/B2 licence with AW139 and/or Bell 429 type rating.
• MEA40715/MEA40618 or equivalent Aeroskills certificates.
• Strong experience on AW139, Bell 429 or other medium helicopters.
• High level of trade aptitude.
• Security checks including National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Planning and preparing maintenance tasks with parts, GSE, tooling, and documentation.
• Performing scheduled maintenance to maximise aircraft availability.
• Coordinating, supervising, and rectifying unscheduled maintenance needs.
• Supporting aircraft ranging, husbandry, and recovery activities.
• Preparing fly-away kits and conducting maintenance during deployments.
• Maintaining a safe workspace and applying safety practices.

About The Role

As part of our maintenance team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant maintenance activities on our AW139 and Bell 429 fleet. You’ll bring strong technical skills, a proactive approach, and experience working on medium helicopters.

What you’ll be doing:

• Planning and preparing for maintenance tasks, ensuring all parts, GSE, tooling, manpower, and documentation are available before work begins.
• Performing scheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft to maximise availability.
• Coordinating, supervising, and conducting troubleshooting and rectification for unscheduled maintenance needs.
• Supporting aircraft ranging, husbandry, and recovery activities.
• Preparing fly‑away kits and conducting maintenance during deployments.
• Maintaining a safe workspace and consistently applying safe work practices.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Completed mechanical/avionics trade qualifications.
• CASA Part 66 B1.3 / B2 licence with AW139 and/or Bell 429 type rating.
• MEA40715 – Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) / MEA40618 – Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) or equivalent.
• Strong experience on AW139, Bell 429 or other medium helicopters
• High level of trade aptitude
• Security checks to be completed as required, including National Police Check

Highly desirable:

• Extensive industry experience.
• Experience in general aircraft maintenance practices.
• Strong understanding of Civil Aviation Regulations.
• Self-motivated with a flexible, team-focused attitude.
• Willingness to support all aspects of base engineering.
• MEA41322 – Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures).
