James Cook University (JCU) invites applications for a dynamic Manager, Space and Minor Works Projects to lead strategic space planning, workplace design and the delivery of minor works and refurbishment projects across the built environment.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Planning and Capital Development, you will oversee project prioritisation, scope, resources, budgets, procurement, contracts and governance, while coaching a high‑performing team to deliver safe, on‑time, high‑quality

Qualifications

• Requires a relevant degree and extensive experience leading minor works, refurbishment and space optimization portfolios.
• Experience in project planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, procurement, contract administration and budget oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead space planning, workplace design and delivery of minor works/refurbishment projects.
• Oversee project prioritisation, scope, resources, budgets, procurement, contracts, governance and performance reporting.
• Provide expert advice to stakeholders and lead a high-performing team focusing on collaboration, accountability, innovation and service excellence.
