Job summary

G’day Group is hiring a Sous Chef for Discovery Resorts – Kings Canyon, a premier outback location in Australia. You will lead daily kitchen operations, mentor staff, and uphold top culinary standards across à la carte and buffet service.

You’ll ensure food safety, cost control and menu planning while collaborating with front-of-house to deliver memorable guest experiences in a distinctive setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong senior chef leadership.
• Strong menu planning and cost control knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations, rostering and ordering.
• Lead, train and mentor kitchen staff.
• Prepare and present high-quality dishes with consistency and attention to detail.
• Maintain HACCP and food safety compliance.
• Manage stock control, waste and cost efficiency.
• Work closely with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.

The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at Discovery Resorts – Kings Canyon, one of Australia’s most iconic outback destinations.

As Sous Chef, you’ll support the Head Chef in leading daily kitchen operations while mentoring the team and maintaining high culinary standards. You’ll play a key role in delivering quality dining across à la carte service, buffet offerings and special dining experiences — all while working in a truly unique location.

• A current driver’s licence (desirable)
