Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking a Sous Chef to lead daily cafe operations at The Terraces, Paddington. You will oversee food preparation, service delivery and ensure residents and visitors enjoy a warm, welcoming dining experience.

You’ll create high-quality meals, plan menus, coordinate cafe operations, and lead by example in a respectful environment with a focus on food safety and service excellence. Previous cafe/culinary leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum four years’ experience in the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
• Excellent communication and literacy skills.
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred).
• A collaborative and positive approach to leading and supporting others.

• Plan and coordinate café operations, including menus and stock ordering.
• Proactively manage customer queries and provide timely solutions.
• Maintain compliance with HACCP, WHS, and food safety regulations.
• Monitor budgets, contribute to sales and marketing initiatives, and suggest process improvements.
• Lead and support café staff through on-the-job training and teamwork.

Your opportunity

In this role, you’ll take ownership of daily cafe operations, from food preparation to service delivery, ensuring residents and visitors enjoy a warm, welcoming and memorable experience.

As a Sous Chef at The Terraces, Paddington, you’ll play an integral role in creating high-quality meals and dining experiences for residents, guests, and community members. With a focus on food safety, quality, and service excellence, you’ll plan menus, coordinate café operations, and lead by example in a supportive and respectful environment.
