Job summary

WorkPac Group is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN Grade 5) for a 4-week contract at Alpha Multi Purpose Health Service in Alpha, Queensland. The role covers acute, aged care and emergency nursing within a regional health service, with shared on-site accommodation and travel reimbursement.

You must be registered with AHPRA and bring extensive RN experience. The assignment runs from late September to early November 2026, and is designed to provide valuable rural and remote nursing

Qualifications

• Triage training and competency, IVC/cannulation.

Registered Nurse Grade 5 | 4-Week Contract | Alpha, QLD

4-week contract | Alpha Multi Purpose Health Service | Travel & accommodation provided

We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN Grade 5) for a 4-week contract at Alpha Multi Purpose Health Service (MPHS) in regional Queensland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced rural/remote nurse with a strong background across acute care, aged care and emergency nursing.

About the Role

Location: Alpha, QLD

Contract: 28 September 2026 8 November 2026

Position: RN Grade 5

Accommodation: Shared on-site accommodation provided

Travel: Travel expenses reimbursed, subject to applicable caps

About You

To be successful, you will have:

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

Extensive experience in acute nursing

Experience in aged care

Experience working in an Emergency Department

Current Triage training and competency

IVC/Cannulation competency

Advanced Life Support (ALS)

Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

Ability to work confidently and independently in a regional health setting

Travel & Accommodation

Travel will be reimbursed equivalent to the cost of flying from Brisbane to the facility, with travel costs capped at $850 return, or applicable ATO rates for travel of up to 500 km.

Flights may be arranged to Longreach or Windorah, with onward transport to Alpha.

Accommodation:

Shared accommodation is available on-site at Alpha MPHS. The facility was specifically designed to support staff working in the region and includes six short-term accommodation units for health workers and agency staff.

Compliance Requirements

Successful candidates will need to provide the required documentation prior to commencement, including:

Most current signed and dated resume

2 professional references completed within the last 6 months

JP-certified nursing qualifications

Required vaccination/serology evidence, including Hepatitis B, MMR, Pertussis and Varicella

TB Questionnaire and VPD documentation

JP-certified National Police Certificate / Aged Care Criminal History Check

3 JP-certified forms of identification, including one photo ID

Current BLS, ALS and PALS evidence

Triage training and completed competency

Other facility-specific compliance documentation as required

Important: The National Police Certificate must be emailed directly by the nurse to Queensland Health at ***************@health.qld.gov.au in accordance with current legislation.
