Job summary

EVT Limited's Gowings team seeks a Casual Sommelier to bring the venue's wine philosophy to life and elevate the guest experience. You will work closely with the Head Sommelier and Venue Manager, supporting daily operations and staffing while upholding professionalism and consistency.

You will contribute to a guest-centric service in a busy hotel environment, leveraging strong wine knowledge, beverage versatility, and a collaborative mindset to delight guests across outlets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a sommelier in a restaurant, hotel or wine bar.
• Strong wine knowledge and ability to recommend and upsell.
• Broad beverage knowledge across spirits, beers and wines.
• Personable and able to engage with guests in a busy environment.
• Strong communication skills, team orientation and attention to detail.
• Adaptable with the ability to multi-task and anticipate guests' needs.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working as a Sommelier in a restaurant, hotel or wine bar.
• Good overall wine knowledge with the ability to recommend and guide guests and upsell products.
• Strong overall beverage knowledge across spirits, beers and wines.
• Personable, enjoy working in a busy environment and engaging with guests.
• Good communication, a team player and attention to detail.
• Adaptable and the ability to multi-task and anticipate the guests needs.

Enjoy working in a hotel environment and have flexibility to support different outlets.
