What You'll Do

This is a professional engineer role within the International Government Global engineering team providing networking and satellite communications solutions concepts, detailed solutions designs, systems integration, maintenance program development and training solutions. These engineering activities support International Government engineering consultancy opportunities as well as commercial proposals, bids or tender responses in support of the sales teams within International Government.

The Solutions Architect role requires you to be self-sufficient and self-motivated engineering professional with extensive satellite solutions design experience who is expected to oversee all requirements and dependencies of tasks allocated to them.

As a Solutions Architect you will be required to develop solutions to meet specific International Government customer requirements utilising either existing or newly developed hardware, product configurations and / or services, and must collaborate with functional teams outside of International Government as needed to bring new hardware and services into operation. You will also be required to develop written engineering content for inclusion into commercial RFI and RFT responses, commercial proposals or quotations.

Solutions Architects must also be prepared to provide technical guidance, instruction and mentoring of less experience engineering staff within the International Government engineering team.

The day-to-day
  • Provision of timely and insightful technical input into the preparation of tender responses
  • Lead the development of end-to-end technical solutions for bid responses and offers
  • Provision of satellite solutions designs and satellite systems integration expertise to clients in support of International Government sales teams
  • Provide engineering level technical support to the ongoing operations of the International Government Operations team
  • Design, build and delivery of bespoke solutions, using a variety of Viasat capability, including Viasat Satellite and ground capability
  • Manage the technical aspects of project delivery into sustainment
  • Creation detailed technical documentation in support of systems design and ongoing opoerations
  • Specification, documentation and implementation of hardware solutions for IP networking over satellite
  • Provision of senior engineering level support and technical mentoring to International Government engineers
  • Provision of training and technical presentations
What You'll Need
  • Must hold a relevant engineering degree, with a demonstrated ability in the satellite communications industry.
  • Must have demonstrable experience in developing solutions in a pre-sales environment (bids/RFT’s/ RFQ’s) under Asdefcon frameworks
  • Applicant must be eligible to obtain NV1 clearance
What Will Help You On The Job
  • Experience in IT, particularly as it applies to satellite communications and networking.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux based operating system installation and configuration.
  • Proficient in the development of maintenance documentation and support programmes for developed solutions based on OEM component documentation.
  • Experience of ILS systems particularly as they relate to ASDEFCON.
  • Self-starter and innovative individuals are required. Ability to push boundaries to find the best possible solutions to our customers problems.
