Job summary

SYPAQ Systems in Canberra is seeking a Solutions Architect to design complex business solutions on the Microsoft technology platform, including Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Power BI and .NET Core. The role requires collaboration with agile teams and stakeholders across a federal department.

You will oversee implementation, ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, and contribute to reporting and decision making through briefs and information papers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Solutions Architecture role with government experience
• Experience designing and delivering solutions on the Microsoft platform: Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Power BI, .NET Core
• Australian Citizen with an existing baseline clearance

• Assist in developing and maintaining enterprise architecture visibility for current and future state of information environment.

• Monitor and synthesize changes in technology landscape (especially Microsoft) and apply them to the Department's environment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the Department and with infrastructure, enterprise and security architects.
• Contribute to organisational change by recommending improvements to processes and information systems.

Due to an increased demand within our business, SYPAQ are seeking Solutions Architect for an opportunity with a Federal Government Department. This role is exclusive to SYPAQ and is immediately available. This contract is upto June 2027 plus potential extensions.

Overview

The Solution Architect is responsible for the design of complex business solutions on the Microsoft Technology Platform.

Key responsibilities include

• Design complex business solutions that support business processes, requirements and rules.
• Oversee the implementation of designs by Agile development teams, by providing ongoing review, advice and decision making in accordance with the Department’s enterprise architecture principles and common design patterns.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of enterprise architecture to ensure that the technology staff and business executive can understand the current and future state of the Clients information environment.
• Enable informed decision making on solutions architecture issues by developing timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations, and information papers for stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of a holistic view of the Department by building knowledge of business processes, information gathered, the technology used, and strategy. Utilise ICT and business knowledge to help ensure that the business and the supporting ICT are aligned and will have the capability to meet future requirements.
• Monitor and synthesis ongoing changes and improvements in the technology landscape (particularly Microsoft) and how those changes relate to/can be applied to the Departments information environment.
• Work closely with key stakeholders from across the Department as well as infrastructure architects, enterprise architects, and security architects within DSB.
• Contribute to organisational change through recommended improvements to existing business processes, practices, procedures, and information systems.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Solutions Architecture role with demonstrable experience in a government environment.
• Experience designing and overseeing the delivery of solutions built on the Microsoft platform, including: Dynamics 365 Power Platform. Power BI. .NET Core.

The successful applicant must be an Australian Citizen with an existing baseline clearance.
