Job summary

SYPAQ is seeking a Systems Administrator in Victoria to maintain and secure ICT networks across Windows and Linux environments, including air-gapped setups. You will deploy Nutanix HCI, configure endpoint and server security, and monitor systems with Nessus and Splunk while supporting secure Remote Desktop Services.

Qualifications

• A higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Defence background desirable.
• Australian citizen able to hold NV2 clearance.
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar Linux OS.
• Experience administering Windows Server/Desktops.
• Nutanix HCI experience highly desirable.
• Experience with AWS and Azure environments desirable.
• Experience administrating Cyber-Security Governance, Risk and Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimize ICT infrastructure across air-gapped Windows and Linux environments.
• Deploy and configure Nutanix HCI.
• Design, implement and maintain endpoint security policies using Trellix ePO.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of Trellix ePO.
• Manage and configure Nessus to perform regular vulnerability scans.
• Manage and configure Splunk Enterprise across the environment.
• Manage and configure Windows Remote Desktop Services environments.
• Develop and document ICT & Security changes to uplift systems and controls.
• Analyse periodic ISM changes and recommend remediation actions.
• Develop cyber-security documentation to support ATO.
• Implement security measures to resolve vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.
• Verify minimum security requirements are in place for all applications.

SYPAQ is currently looking for a Systems Administrator to join our team in Victoria. Working from our Head office located in Port Melbourne this position is pivotal in maintaining and configuring SYPAQ’s ICT Networks, Systems and Security tools, with an emphasis on SYPAQ’s secure environments. Working within an established team and reporting to the Head of Infrastructure this opportunity is available immediately and open to Australian citizens who can hold and maintain a NV2 security clearance as minimum.

Key Responsibilities include;

• Design, implement and optimize ICT infrastructure across Air-gapped Windows and Linux environments.
• Deploy and configure Nutanix HCI
• Design, implement and maintain endpoint security policies using Trellix ePO
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of Trellix ePO
• Manage and configure Tenable Nessus to perform regular vulnerability scans across the environment
• Manage and configure Splunk Enterprise across the environment
• Manage and configure the deployment of Windows Remote Desktop Services environments
• Develop and document and implement ICT & Security changes to uplift systems and controls across the network
• Analyse periodic changes to the Information Security Manual (ISM), the impact to systems and recommend remediation actions, if necessary
• Develop and document cyber-security documentation including systems administration standard operating procedures, to support retention of the Authority To Operate (ATO).
• Implement security measures to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate risks and recommend security changes to system or system components as needed.
• Verify minimum security requirements are in place for all applications.

About you

• A qualified practitioner with higher degree qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Defence or Defence Industry background is desirable.
• Australian Citizen with the ability to hold and maintain Australian Defence Security Clearance NV2 Minimum
• Demonstrated experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar Linux operating systems.
• Demonstrated experience administering Windows Server and Desktop operating systems.
• Experience administering Nutanix HCI is highly desirable
• Experience administering AWS and Azure environments is highly desirable.
• Experience administrating Cyber-Security Governance, Risk and Compliance regime for secure environments. (Desirable)
