Job summary

SITA is a global leader in air travel technology, enabling airports, airlines and borders to operate smoothly. The Solution Designer will drive new business by crafting cost-effective, deliverable solutions after a thorough pre-sales review of customer requirements and product knowledge.

In this role you will own the technical and commercial elements of proposals, liaise with multiple stakeholders, and help shape customer success with innovative architectures across Java, .NET, MQ, and Oracle

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of IT experience, air transport experience preferred in a solution designer/pre-sales role.
• Proven track record in producing, communicating, and documenting technical customer solutions proposals.
• Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Technologies, or Business. MBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be the prime interface to customers on technical & commercial matters and lead customer engagements, from initial contact to solution deployment.
• Establish and maintain a professional relationship with customers.
• Work with customers to better understand their business and develop sound solutions to meet their requirements.
• Collaborate with Account Managers/Directors to develop sales and accounts development strategies.
• Promote SITA by furnishing customers with up-to-date information on products and solutions.
• Design and coordinate development of business solutions involving multiple parties.
• Support qualification of customer needs through knowledge of technologies and SITA portfolios.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to build a business case for proposals.
• Own the technical and commercial parts of proposals; work with project managers for smooth handover.
• Collect and report on subscription parameters to identify opportunities and trends.
• Mentor colleagues in pre-sales activities.

PURPOSE

The Solution Designer provides customers with professional, timely, accurate and effective proposals to provide SITA services. The Solution Designer drives new business opportunities by leveraging knowledge of information technologies and of the air transport industry. The role produces cost effective, deliverable solutions to customers, based on a detailed pre-sales review of customer business requirements, strong product knowledge and applicable professional and technical services. The commercial goals are to increase the overall customer satisfaction, to expand new business revenue, and to promote continuing revenue retention. The role also needs to support Delivery in the capacity of a Solution Designer which will require documenting the non-functional solution components of the project such as Interface design, Data Migration, Infrastructure design (with the aid of a Infrastructure specialist), etc.

Key Responsibilities

Be the prime interface to customers on technical & commercial matters and lead customer engagements, from initial contact to solution deployment;

• Work closely with Account Managers/Directors to develop sales and accounts development strategies;
• Promote SITA by furnishing customers with comprehensive, up-to-date information on current products, product enhancements and new solutions, through customer meetings and workshops;
• Design and co-ordinate the development of business solutions which may involve multiple parties both internally and externally;
• Support the technical qualification of customers' communication needs through knowledge of current, new or evolving technologies, and SITA solution portfolios;
• Liaise with various internal stakeholders, such as Pricing, Customer Service, and Project Management, to build business case for customer proposals;
• Own the technical and commercial parts of proposals submitted to customers; - Work closely with project manager to ensure efficient transfer of projects for implementation;
• Collect and report on all customer service subscription parameters in order to analyze and identify potential customers' requirements and proactively work with customers to source for new opportunities;
• Interact with colleagues to gain and share ideas and opportunities, provide coaching and mentoring in pre-sales activities.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

• 7-10 years of experience in Information Technology, Air Transport Industry preferred in a solution designer / technical pre-sales role.
• Proven track record in producing, communicating, and documenting successful technical customer solutions proposals.
