Solution Architecture and Transformation Engineer
The opportunity
We are seeking a senior Solution Architecture and Transformation Engineer to help shape and embed architecture and engineering practices across a large technology environment.
This role combines solution architecture with practical transformation leadership. You will define reference architectures, standards and reusable patterns across cloud, data, AI and application environments, then work with engineering teams to put them into practice.
You’ll assess current capabilities, identify gaps and develop a roadmap for improving architecture and engineering maturity. The role involves working directly with engineers and senior stakeholders to build alignment, support adoption and help teams become more self-sufficient.

What you’ll do

• Define and maintain reference architectures, standards, templates and reusable design patterns.
• Develop architecture guidance for cloud, data, AI, applications and infrastructure.
• Assess team maturity and identify gaps across architecture, governance and engineering practices.
• Create and lead a practical transformation roadmap covering people, processes and technology.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide clear, pragmatic design guidance.
• Work with teams to adopt new standards through workshops, coaching, playbooks and training.
• Establish governance and design assurance practices that support quality and delivery.
• Embed security, reliability, observability and cost considerations into solution design.
• Define architecture patterns for AI, Gen AI, machine learning and data workloads.
• Track adoption and maturity improvements across teams.

About you

You’ll bring significant experience in solution architecture, cloud transformation or a similar senior architecture role, along with a track record of helping teams adopt new practices.
You’ll ideally have:

• Deep experience designing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience developing reference architectures, standards and reusable patterns.
• Strong knowledge of modern application architecture, APIs, microservices and cloud-native platforms.
• Experience working across data platforms, AI or machine learning environments; exposure to Gen AI and LLM architecture is desirable.
• An understanding of cloud security, IAM, governance, infrastructure as code and CI/CD.
• Experience with architecture reviews, observability, reliability and operational maturity.
• The ability to assess an environment, identify gaps and build a practical improvement roadmap.
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to influence teams without direct authority.
• Experience building capability through coaching, workshops, training or documentation.

The environment includes GCP, Vertex AI, Gemini Enterprise, BigQuery, dbt, Kubernetes/GKE, Cloud Run, Python, React, TypeScript, APIs, microservices, CI/CD, GitOps and Terraform. Strong technical depth is important, though the role is not expected to code every solution.

You’ll make architecture practical for teams to adopt. Success will include establishing useful standards and patterns, improving consistency and governance, and demonstrating measurable progress in engineering maturity, reliability and team autonomy.
