Job summary

AGL Energy is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to shape the architecture roadmap for our Customer Markets platforms, with a focus on Salesforce and customer engagement technologies. You’ll provide architectural leadership across architecture governance, security, and enterprise standards while partnering with business and technology stakeholders to deliver outcomes.

Expected to lead end-to-end solution design, influence strategic decisions, and drive modernisation programs across cloud

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and delivering Salesforce-based solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise across Salesforce architecture, integration patterns, security, deployment strategies, and platform best practices.
• Proven ability to lead solution architecture on large-scale transformation programs.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern end-to-end solution architectures across Customer Markets initiatives.
• Shape the architecture strategy and roadmap for Salesforce and customer platforms.
• Provide architectural leadership across application, integration, information, cloud, cybersecurity, and data migration domains.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to evaluate technology options, costs, risks, and design trade-offs.
• Lead architecture governance activities and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and future-state strategies.
• Guide delivery teams through solution implementation and complex transformation programs.
• Drive innovation through proof-of-concepts, emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and architecture accelerators.
• Architect secure, scalable, customer-centric solutions that improve experiences and operational efficiency.

About the role

At AGL, we're reimagining how technology enables better customer experiences and supports Australia's energy future. We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to help shape the architecture roadmap for our Customer Markets platforms, with a particular focus on Salesforce and customer engagement technologies. This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role in defining and governing end-to-end technical solutions that deliver business outcomes while aligning with AGL's enterprise architecture, security, and technology strategies. Working across a range of initiatives, you'll partner with business and technology stakeholders to drive solution design, influence strategic decisions, and help modernise our customer platforms.

What you'll bring

• Extensive experience designing and delivering Salesforce‑based solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise across Salesforce architecture, integration patterns, security, deployment strategies, and platform best practices.
• Strong knowledge of multiple Salesforce Clouds, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Industry Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud.
• Proven success leading solution architecture on large‑scale transformation and modernisation programs.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and translating technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Strong understanding of architecture governance, solution assurance, and enterprise architecture principles.
• Exposure to cloud‑native architectures (AWS, Azure or GCP) and modern engineering practices.
• Knowledge of AI, Responsible AI principles, and enterprise‑scale governance frameworks.
• Salesforce Architecture certifications (Application Architect and/or System Architect) and architecture frameworks such as TOGAF will be highly regarded.
