Job summary

Allianz Sydney is seeking a Solution Architect – AI Squad for a 6-month contract. The role focuses on designing secure, scalable AI solutions across Generative AI, Agentic AI, and ML initiatives, aligned to enterprise standards and regulatory obligations.

You will lead architecture across cloud/hybrid environments, embedding security, privacy, risk, and Responsible AI principles, while collaborating with diverse teams to deliver impactful digital solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Solution Architect in regulated industries is desirable.
• Proven ability to design AI/Generative AI and ML solutions, including production deployments.
• Strong cloud and hybrid expertise, especially AWS/Azure.
• Knowledge of AI security, privacy, governance, and data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture and design of AI solutions across Allianz.
• Ensure secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective designs.

About the role

The Solution Architect (AI) plays a key role in shaping Allianz’s AI landscape, designing secure, scalable, resilient and cost-effective solutions that deliver business value. Working across Generative AI, Agentic AI and Machine Learning initiatives, this role provides architectural leadership to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, regulatory obligations and strategic objectives. Partnering closely with Enterprise Architecture, Privacy, Cyber Security, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Data, Engineering and Business teams, you will help drive the safe, ethical and governed adoption of AI across a highly regulated environment.

Lead end-to-end architecture and design of AI solutions across Allianz.

Ensure solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, performant, and cost-effective.

Design AI solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.

Embed security, privacy, risk, compliance, and Responsible AI principles into solution designs.

Define AI architecture standards, patterns, and governance guardrails.

Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Data, and Engineering teams.

Provide architectural guidance, design assurance, and technology leadership throughout delivery.

About you

Extensive experience as a Solution Architect, ideally within insurance, banking, financial services or other highly regulated industries.

Proven experience designing and delivering AI, Generative AI and Machine Learning solutions, including production implementations within enterprise environments.

Strong expertise across cloud and hybrid environments, with experience in AWS and/or Azure.

Deep understanding of solution architecture, APIs, system integration and modern data platforms. Understanding of modern AI application frameworks, agent orchestration patterns, APIs, and data platforms (e.g. Databricks, LangChain, LangGraph, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock).

Sound knowledge of AI security, cyber security, privacy and responsible AI principles.

Experience navigating risk, compliance and governance requirements in complex environments.

Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, data governance, vector databases, RAG patterns, metadata management and AI solution lifecycle management.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business leaders.

General Insurance (GI) domain knowledge

Strong AI skills and experience (with platforms such as Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or Mosaic)

Multi-cloud experience (AWS / Azure preferably)
