Job summary

Transport For NSW is recruiting a Solution Analyst for a fixed-term, hybrid role in Sydney. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Analysts, Developers and Solution Architects to design and deliver technical solutions within SCATS, aligning with business objectives and product strategy.

You will translate requirements into clear designs, produce documentation and interface specs, and help ensure solutions are understood, implemented and maintained. The role ends 20 November 2027.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in software development or systems environments.
• Experience in solution design, systems analysis and/or technical design.
• Experience documenting technical solutions, system integrations and/or application enhancements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Nice to have: IT/CS/Software Engineering/Enterprise Architecture qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of technical solutions within a key area of the SCATS platform.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into solution designs, technical documentation, and interface specifications.
• Work with development teams to ensure solutions are understood, implemented and maintained.
• Contribute to evaluation of technology options, ensuring alignment with architecture standards and governance frameworks.
• Assist in ongoing enhancement and evolution of the SCATS platform and related applications.

In this role, you'll:

You will support the design and delivery of technology solutions that align with business objectives and product strategy. Working closely with development teams, you will help ensure solutions are effectively understood, implemented, and maintained. You will contribute to the evaluation of technology options, providing recommendations that support informed decision-making, while ensuring solutions comply with established architecture standards, governance frameworks, and design principles. Additionally, you will play a key role in the ongoing enhancement, optimisation, and evolution of the SCATS platform and its associated applications.

About you

• 3+ years' experience working in software development, application development and/or systems environments
• Experience within solution design, systems analysis and/or technical design activities
• Experience documenting technical solutions, system integrations and/or application enhancements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to Haves:

• A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Enterprise Architecture

This is a fixed-term flexible hybrid role until 20th of November 2027. 50% of your time will be office based, with 25% (5 days per month) of your time based from our offices in Sydney’s CBD. This role will pay between $124,810.00 - $139,787.00 + super.
