Job summary

Structural Constructions is seeking a qualified Solid Plasterer to join our team across the Gold Coast/Tweed Heads region. You will perform solid rendering and plastering work across multiple sites, delivering a high-quality finish and maintaining professional standards on every site.

The role requires travelling between Gold Coast sites, a current driver’s licence, and a strong eye for detail. AQF Certificate III or IV in plastering and a minimum of 2 years’ experience are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assess plans and site measurements to determine plasterboard placement and moisture-control barriers.

• Fit protective corner trims for neat edges and aligned corners.
• Install decorative cornices, mouldings and plaster features per design specs.
• Apply jointing compounds, plaster to cover seams, then sand and finish surfaces.
• Prepare plaster, cement and render mixtures and apply to surfaces for an even finish.
• Ensure walls and ceilings are straight, level and properly aligned.
• Produce decorative textures on plastered surfaces as required.
• Install insulation materials using plaster-based or cementitious compounds where needed.

Job description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Solid Plasterer to join our team at Structural Constructions to work across multiple sites throughout the Gold Coast/Tweed Heads. You'll be responsible for completing solid rendering works across a range of projects, ensuring a high-quality finish and maintaining professional standards on every site. The role will involve travelling between multiple Gold Coast sites, so reliability, punctuality and a current driver's licence are essential.

Key responsibilities

Assess building plans and site measurements to determine suitable plasterboard placement, including the installation of insulation and moisture-control barriers.

Measure and cut plasterboard to the required dimensions, position panels on walls and ceilings, and fasten them securely to supporting frames and battens.

Fit and attach protective corner trims to ensure neat, durable edges and properly aligned corners.

Install decorative cornices, ceiling roses, mouldings and other prefabricated plaster features according to design specifications.

Apply jointing compounds and plaster to cover seams, screw heads and surface imperfections, then sand and smooth the finished areas.

Prepare plaster, cement and rendering mixtures, apply them to internal and external surfaces, and achieve an even, consistent finish using appropriate tools.

Check and adjust wall surfaces, ceiling lines, corners and angles to ensure they are straight, level and properly aligned.

Produce decorative finishes and textured patterns on plastered surfaces to meet the required appearance and design.

Install and finish acoustic, thermal insulation and fire-resistant materials using suitable plaster-based or cementitious compounds to meet project requirements.

About you

Qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Solid Plastering

Can demonstrate a high standard of workmanship

Is reliable, punctual and well presented

Can work independently with minimal supervision

Has a strong eye for detail and takes pride in their work
