Legal Aid WA in Kununurra seeks an experienced criminal lawyer to lead its East Kimberley office for 12 months, with possible extension or permanency. You will manage a dedicated team delivering duty lawyer, casework, outreach and community legal education across a vast region.

This leadership role offers the chance to shape access to justice in remote communities, travel to circuit courts, and build strong relationships with courts, partner agencies and First Nations communities.

Qualifikationen

• Must have an undergraduate Law degree and be admitted or eligible for admission to practice in Western Australia.
• Experience leading a legal team in a regional setting is preferred.
• Criminal law experience is essential.

About the role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced lawyer to lead Legal Aid WA's Kununurra office. Based in the East Kimberley, this position manages a dedicated team of lawyers and administration staff delivering vital legal services across one of Australia's most unique and geographically expansive regions. The Kununurra office provides duty lawyer, casework, outreach and community legal education services to communities throughout the East Kimberley, including regular travel to remote locations and circuit courts. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to access to justice while building strong relationships with local communities, courts, partner agencies and stakeholders across the region.
