Job summary

Virtue Family & Property Lawyers in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Property Solicitor or Senior Conveyancer to independently manage a property caseload and mentor junior staff. The role offers genuine autonomy, a share of fees you originate and a hand in shaping how the practice runs.

We welcome generalist solicitors aiming to broaden across property, family and commercial law as the firm grows. A hybrid arrangement with the Brisbane CBD office on Creek Street is available.

Qualifications

• Admitted Solicitor with a current Queensland practising certificate.
• 3+ years PQE in property law/conveyancing.
• Experience mentoring, training or supervising junior lawyers or conveyancing staff.
• Strong technical knowledge of Queensland property law.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
• Experience using LEAP legal software.
• Working knowledge of the PEXA electronic settlement platform.
• Experience across family law or general commercial matters.
• Track record of building or maintaining referral relationships.

Responsibilities

• Running a full caseload of property law files independently, from instruction through to settlement.
• Reviewing and advising on contracts, due diligence and title issues across residential and commercial property matters.
• Mentoring and supervising junior solicitors, conveyancers and paralegals, and reviewing their work.
• Liaising directly with clients, real estate agents, brokers and financial institutions.
• Maintaining accurate file management, trust accounting and compliance processes.
• Contributing to the growth of the practice through referral relationships and business development.

Virtue Family & Property Lawyers is a small, up-and-coming law firm based in the Brisbane CBD, focused on property, migration, and family law. We're backed by an established migration and professional services business with a long-standing industry presence and a strong referral network. We're looking for an experienced Senior Property Solicitor or Senior Conveyancer to run a caseload of property files independently and mentor and develop other team members. This is a senior role suited to someone who wants genuine autonomy, a share of fees they originate, and a hand in shaping how the practice runs. We're also keen to hear from generalist solicitors who want to build a broad practice across property, family and commercial law as we grow — there's plenty of room to develop your career with us.

Key responsibilities

• Running a full caseload of property law files independently, from instruction through to settlement
• Reviewing and advising on contracts, due diligence and title issues across residential and commercial property matters
• Mentoring and supervising junior solicitors, conveyancers and paralegals, and reviewing their work
• Liaising directly with clients, real estate agents, brokers and financial institutions
• Maintaining accurate file management, trust accounting and compliance processes

About you

• Admitted as a Solicitor with a current Queensland practising certificate (or a licensed conveyancer with equivalent standing)
• Significant experience in property law/conveyancing (3+ years PQE or equivalent), with a demonstrated ability to run files without supervision
• Proven experience mentoring, training or supervising junior lawyers or conveyancing staff
• Strong technical knowledge of Queensland property law
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills
• Highly organised, with strong file and time management skills
• Experience using LEAP legal software
• Working knowledge of the PEXA electronic settlement platform
• Experience across family law or general commercial matters
• A track record of building or maintaining referral relationships
