Job summary

RenewCo Solar is seeking an experienced Solar Roofer to join our Sydney team for installations across residential and commercial properties. The role blends traditional roofing with photovoltaic know-how to deliver secure, high-quality solar systems in the Sydney metropolitan area.

You will work alongside electrical teams, ensure safety compliance, and maintain meticulous installation records while upholding our commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Experience as a roofer with solar installations preferred.
• Certification/training in roofing (Certificate III or equivalent).
• White Card and height safety qualifications required or willing to obtain.
• Understanding of electrical safety and solar PV systems.

Responsibilities

• Install solar panel systems on rooftops with secure, weather-tight installations.
• Measure roof structures to determine panel placement and system needs.
• Prepare roof surfaces, including repairs to support solar installations.
• Coordinate with electrical teams for solar components and cabling.
• Inspect installations for safety and quality standards.
• Maintain records of work, materials, and timelines.
• Identify safety or structural issues on rooftops before and during installations.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
• Follow health and safety regulations and company protocols.

RenewCo Solar is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Solar Roofer to join our dynamic team in Sydney. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on renewable energy installations across residential and commercial properties throughout the Sydney metropolitan area. As a Solar Roofer, you will play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of solar panel systems, combining traditional roofing expertise with specialised knowledge of photovoltaic technology. This position is essential to our mission of delivering high-quality sustainable energy solutions to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Install solar panel systems on rooftops, ensuring secure and weather-tight installations
• Perform accurate measurements and assessments of roof structures to determine solar panel placement and system requirements
• Prepare roof surfaces, including repairs and reinforcement work as needed to support solar installations
• Work with electrical teams to coordinate the integration of solar components and cabling systems
• Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality specifications
• Maintain detailed records of installation work, materials used and project timelines
• Identify and address potential structural or safety issues on rooftops before and during installations
• Maintain all tools and equipment in safe working condition
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations and company safety protocols

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a roofer or in a related roofing trade, ideally with exposure to solar installations
• Strong knowledge of roofing materials, techniques and best practices in roof installation and repair
• Certification or formal training in roofing (such as a Certificate III or equivalent in Roofing or relevant trade qualification)
• Current or willing to obtain White Card (Construction Induction Card) and relevant height safety qualifications
• Demonstrated understanding of electrical safety principles and working knowledge of solar PV systems
• Excellent physical fitness and the ability to work safely at heights for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• A proactive approach to safety and a commitment to maintaining a zero-incident workplace
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to various roof types and environmental conditions
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to work
