Job summary

Smart Energy Answers is seeking an Engineering Technologist to join our Castle Hill team, supporting design, development, and implementation of solar and renewable energy systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects.

The role requires a relevant engineering qualification, hands-on Solar PV experience, and knowledge of Australian standards. Based at our Castle Hill office, it offers a permanent full-time position with attractive salary and superannuation.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Experience in solar PV design, installation, or renewable energy engineering support.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and compliance for solar/renewable energy installations.
• Proficiency with design/drafting software such as AutoCAD or PVsyst.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in design, development, and testing of solar systems.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, layouts, and documentation for PV installs.
• Conduct site inspections and feasibility studies for solar projects.
• Perform system performance testing and evaluation.
• Support material/equipment selection for renewable projects.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Analyze data to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards and regs.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Prepare reports and compliance records.
• Contribute to process improvements in renewables.
