Job summary
One Power is seeking a Solar Installer / Trade Assistant in Thornton, NSW, to join our growing renewable energy team. The role involves hands-on installation of solar systems for residential and commercial properties, with start within 1–2 weeks and opportunities to advance technical skills.
You will work with a professional team, assist with mounting, wiring, testing and site safety, and travel between installation sites as needed. A current license and a proactive safety mindset are essential.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Solar Installer or Trade Assistant
- Understanding of solar panel installation, electrical systems and safety standards
- Physically fit and able to work at heights
- Current driver’s licence for travel between sites
Responsibilities
- Assist in installing solar panels, mounting systems and electrical components on residential and commercial properties
- Prepare installation sites and ensure safe, compliant work areas
- Support lead installer with positioning, alignment and securing of solar equipment
- Assist with routing and installation of electrical wiring and connections between solar panels and inverters
- Conduct system testing and performance checks to meet quality standards
- Maintain records of installation work and materials used
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE
- Communicate with customers and provide professional service
- Support team with site maintenance and tool care
