Job summary

Qantas is seeking a Software Technical Lead to lead a high-performing engineering team at the new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide. You will guide the development of scalable digital solutions, drive technical excellence, and align engineering work with customer value and strategic goals.

You will mentor engineers, shape architecture decisions, and collaborate closely with Product Managers to deliver reliable, secure, and high‑quality software across domains.

Qualifications

• 10 years in systems development and integration, including 3+ years in tech leadership.
• Proven ability to mentor developers in best practices for software development.
• Experience guiding teams through agile product discovery and delivery.
• Ability to influence stakeholders to drive functional, efficient software.
• Experience in backend architecture design and scalable services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a technical domain and lead engineers within it.
• Guide full development lifecycle from problem discovery to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to align software with business value.
• Contribute to strategic planning and leadership within Engineering and Delivery.
• Ensure guidance on integration patterns, monitoring, and reliability.
