Job summary

Reuters is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Legislation) to join a hybrid team in Australia. You will help maintain and modernize TimeBase-based systems and support migration toward TR-managed tooling and cloud platforms.

Expect cross-border collaboration with global teams and documentation of complex migrations. The role emphasizes Perl 5.8 modernization, SSO/configuration, and observability, with a focus on data and CRM migrations and cloud infrastructure relocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with cloud migration and data/CRM migrations across complex systems.
• Proven hands-on development across Perl, C#, Java, and JavaScript with modern tooling.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute TimeBase maintenance with global teams.
• Support migration and modernization of TimeBase content and related cloud platforms.
• Assist with source code migrations and Jira → Azure DevOps transitions.
• Document migration runbooks and provide knowledge transfer.
