Job summary

nCino in Melbourne is seeking a mid-level software engineer to design, develop, and test complex software systems for cloud-based products. You will work independently on tasks while aligning with team architecture and sequencing.

You will contribute to CI/CD, write high-quality code, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and support go-live activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional industry experience at mid-level engineering.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language and understanding of software design principles.
• Experience with web application development.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices: coding standards, code reviews, version control, testing.
• Proficient with Git.
• Based in Melbourne and able to work from the Melbourne office three days per week.
• Production experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Node-based backend experience: TypeScript and Node.js.
• Salesforce development experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, troubleshoot, and break down complex tickets, identifying dependencies across teams and epics.
• Support product refinement, including ticket creation and analysis for development work.
• Follow architectural decisions and understand underlying rationale.
• Participate in brainstorming and propose innovative ideas.
• Contribute to proof-of-concept implementations and prototypes with risk considerations.
• Contribute to CI/CD process and improve test coverage.
• Communicate clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understand adoption and release barriers for product/tech.
• Assist Product Manager with strategic launch and cross-functional planning.
• Promote cross-team collaboration for end-to-end solutions and go-live support.
• Analyse product adoption and identify improvements to customer journey for enhancements.
• Address system hygiene and produce high-quality code.
• Adhere to coding standards and stay current with trends and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews to a high standard.
• Define a personalized continuous learning path.
• Use AI tools to support development and automate repetitive tasks.
• Evaluate and integrate AI/ML capabilities where appropriate.
