Pinnacle Investment Management Group Limited is seeking a data engineering professional to join our Brisbane team. You will collaborate with business users, design self-service dashboards, and implement data pipelines using Python, SQL Server, and Databricks.

The role focuses on data cleansing, ETL/ELT workflows, and integrating AI into processes while coordinating with stakeholders and maintaining robust version control with Git.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business users to gather requirements, wireframe and sign-off.
• Frontend development: build menus, forms and dashboards for self-service data access.
• Develop in Python and libraries such as pandas; work with APIs.
• Develop SQL Server queries and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Integrate AI into processes using Databricks.
• Use Git for code repository management and version control.
• Cleanse data and rationalise collection points and methods.
• Review and improve existing systems and processes; contribute to project implementation.
• Manage databases and leverage Airflow for workflow orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Work with business user to gather requirements; wireframe and sign-off
• Front End development – build menus, forms, dashboards to allow ‘self-service’ access to data; data analysis and visualisation;
• Developing in Python (also writing in libraries such as pandas, API’s)
• Developing database queries (SQL Server) and ETL/ELT pipelines;
• Integration of Ai into process using Databricks;
• Code repository using git;
• Data cleansing and rationalising collection points and methods;
• Reviewing and improving existing system and business processes;
• Project implementation and integration;
• Database management & knowledge of Airflow.

The Successful Candidate

• A Graduate degree in Computer Science, IT or Software engineering;
• The ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders;

• Strong mathematical results from university;
• An interest in and a desire to work in financial services; and
• Brisbane based or willing to move to Brisbane
• You must be an Australian citizen or hold PR to be considered for this role.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience in the MS Azure ecosystem (SQL Server and ELT; Flow; Teams; Sharepoint; Fast API)
• Technical expertise in data models, database design and data mining techniques;
• 1-2 years work experience, preferably developing in Financial Services
• Proven experience of using data analysis and visualisation tools;
• Outstanding critical thinking and analytical skills;
• An understanding of the funds management and/or broader financial services industry; and
