Intertek Inform is seeking a Software Engineer – AI Focus to design, develop and deploy AI-enabled solutions. You will work on LLMs, intelligent automation and regulatory content processing, delivering scalable applications for enterprise use.

You’ll contribute to AI-assisted knowledge management, document analysis and automated policy generation while collaborating across Product, Engineering, Operations and Commercial teams.

Formación

• Proven experience designing and deploying AI-enabled applications in production.
• Strong software engineering skills with Python and/or C#/.NET.
• Experience integrating LLMs, generative AI and AI-powered capabilities into business apps.
• Excellent knowledge of REST APIs, architecture, data structures and integrations.

We're looking for a talented Software Engineer – AI Focus to join our Product & Technology team and help design, develop and deliver cutting-edge AI-enabled solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with large language models (LLMs), generative AI, intelligent automation and emerging technologies, transforming how organisations access, interpret and manage complex regulatory, compliance and risk information.

About the Role

Reporting to the Development Manager, you'll play a key role in developing and integrating AI-powered capabilities into our products and platforms.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, Operations and Commercial teams, you'll design and deliver intelligent applications, automated workflows and enterprise integrations that improve customer experiences and operational efficiency.

You'll contribute to exciting initiatives including AI-assisted knowledge management, intelligent document analysis, automated policy generation, risk assessment, regulatory horizon scanning and AI-driven content processing.

This is a hands-on engineering role offering the opportunity to take AI solutions from concept and experimentation through to production deployment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and develop AI solutions: Build scalable, secure and production-ready applications using AI, LLMs and modern software engineering practices.
• Develop intelligent AI workflows: Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, AI agents and workflow automation.
• Build and integrate applications: Develop APIs, system integrations and data pipelines that connect AI capabilities with enterprise platforms.
• Leverage cloud AI technologies: Work with Microsoft Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI and related technologies to deliver intelligent product capabilities.
• Drive innovation: Explore emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve products, processes and customer experiences.
• Ensure quality and reliability: Implement testing, evaluation, monitoring and optimisation frameworks to maintain performance, accuracy and security.
• Collaborate across teams: Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions, working closely with stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
• Deliver measurable impact: Build AI-powered capabilities that improve information accessibility, automate complex processes and create meaningful business value.

About You

We're looking for a technically strong Software Engineer who combines solid software development expertise with practical experience building and deploying AI-enabled applications.

To be successful, you'll bring:

• Proven experience in software engineering, with strong development skills in Python and/or C#/.NET.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing and deploying AI-enabled solutions in production environments.
• Experience integrating LLMs, generative AI and AI-powered capabilities into business applications.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, application architecture, data structures and enterprise system integrations.
• Experience developing automated workflows and integrating multiple systems and data sources.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of software testing, validation, monitoring and production support.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A relevant qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Highly regarded experience includes

• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, vector search and semantic retrieval.
• AI agents, agentic workflows and AI evaluation techniques.
• Microsoft Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI and associated cloud technologies.
• Document intelligence, OCR, search technologies and knowledge management systems.
• Data pipelines, automation frameworks and enterprise AI integrations.
• Experience developing solutions within compliance, legal, audit, risk or other regulated industries.
• Building trustworthy AI solutions with appropriate security, governance and human oversight.
